This Badge of Wrangler of Writing

I cast my 9x9x25 vote for Terry Greene and pin upon him this badge of Wrangler of Writing.

sheriff badge for Terry Greene

Perhaps it can go by his other notable badges. Particularly, the True Friend badge from the infamous Talky Tina. He used his true friendship techniques to wrangle a group of us together to share some ideas. He managed to do so humanly and digitally, and led us there by his own example as a sharing open author.

Terry has wrangled writing before. The Open Faculty Patchbook is just a beautiful example of the choreography that can do into “faculty development.” To me, it leaps beyond how we have practiced the notion of “faculty development” by leveraging the current technical tools and creating a shared space with some deep ownership and community.

Today I was notified that a proposal I submitted to the OLC event next year has been accepted. The title is, Putting Play Back in Professional Development (or Bribes, Bridges, and Balloons). I will use this as an example of the playfulness and the bridges that are helpful in creating long lasting and community building professional development opportunities.

So it with great honor and respect that I offer this badge to Terry. Thank you for the wonder, the willingness, the hope, and the kindness to create this event.
