My favorite modality is when everyone closes their eyes at the same time. My favorite modality is the one where you can’t decide to use green or blue. My favorite modality is when I can’t make it up the hill and briefly get angry at myself and promise I’ll try harder next time. My favorite modality can hurt you if you are not paying attention. My favorite modality is always willing to change modalities. My favorite modality needs to take breaks and rest. My favorite modality is never just Zoom or a lecture or a discussion. My favorite modality is being at the edge of the cliff. My favorite modality hears children playing over there. My favorite modality smells. My favorite modality is not a brand name or any edu-jargon. My favorite modality despises pop educational models, but knows they are needed to make small changes. 1. Brilliant piece, Todd. I can’t top “My favorite modality is always willing to change modalities.” or “My favorite modality is still looking for my favorite modality.”

I might add that my favorite modality is wondering what modality is? Is my favorite modality trying to find the meaning of modality? Or is it about meaning found in modalities? Do modalities actually exist? What is James Tillich’s favorite modality?
